Infusion Lavender Filled Sleep Mask

What you get - A mask that has a velcro fastening and is infused with a lavender scent and a bag to store it in that is supposed to help preserve the scent. Comes in a nice giftable presentation box.Pros - The lavender scent is nice - very mild - but pleasant. The headband is adjustable so you can get the best possible fit.Cons - the adjustable band is velcro which means that if you have long hair it can get stuck in it. You also have to adjust it just right to get good light-blocking - it tends to let light in around the nose piece which could benefit from a little wire in it.Overall - I always sleep with a mask on and this one is one I use regularly but the putting it back in the bag just doesn't happen. I will say that a month later and I can still smell the lavender even without doing that.

This is a nice enough sleep mask, but the lavender fragrance is very faint. As another reviewer has noted, the lavender is not distributed throughout the inside of the mask, but instead is enclosed in a small packet that is fixed in place. So, there is far less in the way of lavender buds & petals than I expected. The product description mentions a hook and loop closure, but the mask I received has a velcro closure. The strap is adjustable, but my hair tends to get tangled up in the velcro. The padding is soft but is not uniform and is a bit lumpy in places. The mask is pleated to form the nose bridge so there is a double fold of fabric and padding in this area. The mask does a good job of keeping out most of the light. The cotton on the inside of the mask is soft, but the linen on the outside is rather rough and scratchy. There is nothing elegant, silky or soft about it. The re-sealable storage pouch referred to in the product description is just a plastic zip-lock bag. The current price of $14.99 seems a bit high to me, and there are better options available in this price range, including masks made of silk, but this might be a good choice for those who find the scent of lavender to be overpowering and are just looking for a light smattering of fragrance.

The lavender scent is calming and pleasant. Not overwhelming. I also love the light purple color of this mask. Works good for me with blocking out the light. I rate 3.5 stars.I am not a fan of velcro adjustments. If you want the band a little on the looser side(or if you have a larger head), the crunchy part of the velcro may snag on hair if you have long hair that may tangle. Just maybe..Where are the slots that enable me to remove the lavender sachets??? There are none. There is no way for me to take out the sachets so that I may wash the eye mask for sanitary purposes... but the product page does suggest to clean with a damp cloth and air dry, so those are the cleaning instructions.

NOTE: item received for free through the Vine programI ordered this mask to replace my previous mask, which has become a little worse for the wear. I love lavender scents and thought the claimed "100% light-blocking" functionality would be great to help me get to sleep. While the lavender scent is quite nice - and storing the mask in the included mask can help preserve the scent - this mask really doesn't do a great job at blocking out light, and it certainly doesn't live up to its claim of "100% light-blocking." The bottom of the mask includes has small flaps that are somewhat adjustable, though I wasn't able to get them adjusted to be truly light-blocking. That said, the mask is cushioned and relatively thick, so it does a decent job at blocking out ambient light - just not completely. The elastic strap is adjustable, but it's not covered in a soft or comfortable fabric, which I found to be irritating to the skin around my ears where the strap rests on bare skin. Ultimately, I found the mask to not be that comfortable.The included instructions seem to suggest that the mask isn't machine washable - the instructions simply say to "wipe with a damp cloth and air dry." If, like me, you have very oily skin, this is a bit of an issue as it's extremely difficult to actually get the mask clean. I haven't actually tried washing the mask to see what happens, but keep this in mind if you have similar quality skin. You may want to go with a mask that you can actually throw into the washing machine.Overall, this isn't a terrible mask, but I don't think I'll be using it nightly. The incomplete light blocking and the uncomfortable strap make this a bit of deal-breaker for me. This mask is relatively cheap and does look nice, and the lavender scent is a nice touch, but I can't recommend it since it doesn't actually function that well as a sleep mask and is uncomfortable to boot.

Very comfortable to put on and has a nice light scent! Doesn't give me a headache from the tightness.Comes in a little bag for storage. You do need to keep it in this bag as much as possible when not using this mask to preserve the scent inside. It does block out light pretty well. It's nice for day naps or if someone you share the room with likes to keep the light on. Overall a great sleep mask and would recommend it!
