a bit finicky

It's best to use a funnel when using any oil that comes in a bottle bigger than any but those .5fl ones. I'd consider pulling the rubber tip off and gluing it before use. It will fall in after the 1st use.Otherwise it works great.

Cute, good size, but leaks and smell is not coming through very well

I was really excited about this little diffuser. I was trying to find something I could use in my car. Typical car air fresheners give me headaches and I’ve been trying to get away from chemicals and perfumes. This seemed like a good solution.Pros:Cute design. It’s small and fits perfectly in a cup holder. It generally works as expected.Cons:It came smelling like some kind of peppermint or tea tree type scent. I soaked it in water, vinegar, and baking soda but the scent persisted. It overpowers the marshmallow scent I added to it.I had to add a lot more than just a few drops for the scent to come through so I think the directions are a little misleading. It definitely depends on the scent as well. Or perhaps the peppermint smell it came with is altering its ability to work with other scents.A BIG issue is that the bottom piece does not have glaze on the bottom outside ring. This causes leaking. I saw a review mention one of these ruining the finish on a bookshelf so I wanted to be sure. I filled it with water and the oil, then I placed it on a piece of paper over night. The water/oil seeped through onto the paper in just a few hours. So I coated the unglazed portion in nail polish and that seems to have sealed it off (for now). I would sit this on a dish or glass just to be safe. The skull also sits in the hole pretty loose. That’s totally fine if you are using it inside. Since I put mine in a car, I took some of the foam from inside the box and put it on the skull to cushion it from rattling. It worked well.Something I didn’t consider: the skull is not going to remain white. It’s absorbing oil, so expect it to start changing colors. I was surprised to see mine already started turning brown after only using it for a day. I’m not super bothered by that, I guess it will just look like a weathered skull, but be mindful in case you were going for a black and white theme.Lastly, the cleaning directions don’t make sense to me. They say to let it dry out between scents. But the oil and scent will still be trapped in the ceramic that way. I don’t see how just letting it dry out will be a good cleaning method. I googled cleaning directions for these types of diffusers and found directions that say to soak it in water with vinegar and baking soda. But even that didn’t totally clean out the last scent. So not sure the best method for cleaning/changing scents.I deducted a star for the unglazed bottom and because it came with an overwhelming smell my scents haven’t been able to power through yet.

Cute and smells nice

It took overnight for the skull to fully absorb the oil but I definitely notice a difference in room smell.I'm experimenting with my putting it in my car as an air freshener. We'll see how well it holds up to temperature change.UPDATE: no problems so far. it drops to 20'f at night and it has not cracked at all. 10/10
